Not-for-profit Board Director Program
This program offers a series of online, self-directed courses to inform directors on not-for-profit boards on their duties and responsibilities. Serving on the board of a charity, association or foundation is rewarding. Board membership offers the opportunity to contribute to your community, meet new people and develop new skills.
Being a board director is also a responsibility. The board is the ultimate manager of the organization and each director has legal responsibilities. Directors are not expected to be experts in every field, but they are expected to give their best effort to be informed. Participation in this Not-for-profit Director Program is a significant step to demonstrate that you have made an effort to know your duties and responsibilities.
Not-for-profit Board Director Program Format
The Director Certification is a self-directed eLearning program. There are no prerequisites. These courses are available to all. Board experience is not required; indeed you may want to take these courses as preparation for sitting on a board.
You can work at your own pace. The courses include exercises, scenarios, self-tests and resource materials.
Based on the demand in each community, webinars, seminars and workshops will be provided for an additional fee. Be sure to let us know if you would like a supplementary event scheduled for your board or community.
